We use te Boyle´s Mariotte law: for a certain mass of gas, at constant temperature, the pressure and volume vary inversely proportionally. We convert the unit of pressure in Torr into atm:

760 Torr---1 atm

480 Torr---x= (480 Torrx 1 atm)/760 Torr=0,632 atm

P1xV1= P2xV2

P2= (P1xV1)/V2= (0,632 atm x 2,0 L)/0,50 L=2,53 atm
