Answer: Senses are necessary for behavior because behavior is a response to an organism's environment. Without senses, the organism would be unable to sense anything in the environment to react to. Senses tell an organism what to avoid and what to interact with; they guide the organism's decisions. Even organisms with very simple senses have some way to detect changes in the environment that need to be reacted to.
