I love equations! Ok this is what you do...

Combine like terms.
8d - 4d - 6d - 8 = 2d
4d - 6d - 8 = 2d
-2d - 8 = 2d
Now you need to isolate the variable. (Add 2d to both sides.)
-8 = 4d
Divide 4 from 4d and -8.
-2 = d
Lets check our work.
8(-2) - 4(-2) - 6(-2) - 8 = 2(-2)
-16 + 8 + 12 - 8 = -4
-8 + 12 - 8 = -4
4 - 8 = -4
-4 = -4
The solution is correct.
I hope this helps love! :)
